QR Code Generator for Teachers
A free QR code maker for sharing links with your class. Paste a link to a document, form, video or website and a QR code appears instantly – show it full screen so students can scan it from their seats with a phone or tablet camera.
It’s handy at every grade level, from sharing an exit ticket to sending families to a class page. The code is made in your browser, so links are never sent to our servers.
How to use it in class
- Paste your link. Copy the address of a document, form or site and paste it into “Link or text”. The QR code appears as you type.
- Add a caption. Optionally type a caption like “Today’s exit ticket” so students know what they’re scanning.
- Show it big. Tap “Show big” to fill the screen with the code. Tap anywhere to close it.
- Download or print. Download a PNG for slides and handouts, or print it for posters and worksheets.
- Reuse it. Your last five codes are listed under Recent on this device, ready to show again.

Frequently asked questions
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The code simply contains your link, so it works for as long as the link itself works.
Is my link stored anywhere?
No. The QR code is created in your browser, and your recent codes are saved only on this device.
Can I make a QR code for plain text?
Yes. Anything you type – a short message, a riddle, an instruction – can go in a QR code.
How do students scan it?
Most phone and tablet cameras read QR codes automatically – just point the camera at the code.
