Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
The short version
- There are no accounts and we never ask for names, emails or other personal details.
- Class lists, scores and settings stay on your device. They are never sent to us.
- The noise meter only measures volume. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits, with advertising features turned off.
- There are no ads right now. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
Who we are
School Games & Tools (schoolgamesandtools.com) offers free learning games and classroom tools for students and teachers. In this policy, “we” and “us” means School Games & Tools.
Information saved on your device
Some features remember things for you using your browser’s local storage. This information stays in your browser on that device. We cannot see it, and it is never uploaded to our servers. It includes:
- Class lists typed into the Name Picker, Group Maker and Seating Chart, including which students are marked absent for the day.
- Seating charts, scoreboard scores and timer settings.
- Game best scores and preferences such as sound on/off and light or dark mode.
To delete it, use the “Clear all” or “Delete” buttons in each tool, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Because it is stored only on your device, it is not shared between devices and is lost if browser data is cleared.
Microphone (Classroom Noise Meter)
The Classroom Noise Meter asks for permission to use your microphone so it can show how loud the room is. The sound is turned into a volume level inside your browser and immediately thrown away. No audio is recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else. The microphone is only used while the meter is running, and you can stop it at any time with the Stop button or withdraw permission in your browser settings. No other part of the site uses the microphone.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which games and tools are used, and what kinds of devices people use, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. It uses cookies (for example _ga) to recognise returning browsers.
We have turned off Google’s advertising features for this site: Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled, and we do not use Analytics data to show ads. We do not send names, emails or any class list information to Google Analytics, and we cannot identify individual visitors from it.
You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies in your browser also stops it.
Advertising
There are currently no ads on School Games & Tools. We may add a small number of ads in the future to keep the site free. If we do:
- ads will never appear in the middle of a game or tool;
- we intend to use non-personalised ads, which are not based on a person’s browsing history;
- we will update this policy before any ads go live, including which ad provider we use and what it collects.
Services we rely on
To run the site we use a few trusted services. Like any website, they may receive your IP address and basic browser information when your device loads files from them:
- Cloudflare – hosts the website and protects it from attacks.
- jsDelivr – delivers the map data, flag images and code libraries the games use.
- Google Fonts – delivers the fonts used on the site.
- Google Analytics – visit statistics, as described above.
Children’s privacy
School Games & Tools is designed to be used by students, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: there are no accounts, sign-ups, chat or uploads, and student names typed into the teacher tools never leave the device they were typed on. Analytics data is anonymous and is not used for advertising. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please email privacy@schoolgamesandtools.com and we will delete it.
Teachers and schools
The teacher tools are designed so that student information stays on the teacher’s device. Nothing typed into the Name Picker, Group Maker or Seating Chart is transmitted to us. We recommend using first names or initials only, and clearing class lists on shared computers.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its use. Because we don’t collect personal details, the main data is Google Analytics statistics and information stored on your own device, which you can delete at any time. For any privacy request, please email privacy@schoolgamesandtools.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes, such as adding ads, will be made here before they take effect.
